RN CLINICAL COORDINATOR
About the role
Assesses patients' conditions and monitors for changes. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed. Provides patient education on radiation therapy and side effects. Collaborates with Radiation Oncologists to develop and implement care plans. Prepares patients for radiation therapy procedures. Monitors patients during radiation therapy sessions for adverse reactions. Maintains accurate and detailed patient records. Coordinates patient care with other healthcare team members. Provides emotional support to patients and their families. Ensures a clean and safe work environment. Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Attends mandatory training and continuing education sessions. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to operate the following healthcare related equipment in a competent and responsible manner: Hospital and department computer systems, computer printers, telephone, paper copier, fax machine, executive patient care system stand-up scale, IMED pumps, PCA pumps, Dynamaps, scopes, impact systems, portable O2 tanks, TV/VCR for patient education, beepers, as well as other healthcare related equipment both electrical and mechanical.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, inter-personal and organizational skills are also required.
- Computer skills needed for documentation within documentation system and use of HIS.
Education
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
Work Experience
- 1+ oncology experience, preferably in radiation oncology [Preferred]
- 2+ hospital experience [Required]
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay
$72,879.32 - $135,547.09
