RN Charge Nurse - Nights
This position is located in Moundridge, KS and operates on a night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Valley Hope of Moundridge provides residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment services, specializing in compassionate medical care to support patients from admission through discharge over 30-45 days of treatment. About the Role
Valley Hope nurses play a pivotal role in patient recovery, offering hands-on medical care and emotional support. As a Charge Nurse, you will assist the Nursing Director in supervising nursing staff, ensuring high-quality treatment documentation, and providing mentorship for staff development. You will also support medical care, including case management and inpatient services, and assist during emergencies by following established protocols.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff, including orientation, training, and performance feedback.
- Monitor and ensure the quality of treatment documentation.
- Support the Nursing Director in medical care, case management, and inpatient treatment services.
- Assist during medical emergencies (e.g., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens) by following established policies and procedures.
- Participate in facility performance improvement activities, focusing on medical services and nursing care quality.
- Collaborate with facility management to identify and implement improvement initiatives.
- Assist with the security, control, and administration of drugs, medications, treatments, and tests as allowed by law.
- Build the skills and competencies of nursing staff to meet industry standards and accreditation guidelines.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of employment.
- Four (4) plus years of clinical nursing care work experience.
- Four (4) plus years of progressive work experience, including one (1) plus years of charge-nurse experience.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Five (5) plus years of clinical nursing care work experience.
- Five (5) plus years of progressive work experience, including two (2) plus years of charge-nurse experience.
- Three (3) plus years of supervisory and/or management experience.
- Work experience in the substance abuse treatment industry.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN).
Pay
Starting hourly rate: $39 - $43.50 per hour (based on education and experience).
- Weekday Night Shift Differential: $4.25 per hour.
- Weekend Night Shift Differential: $4.75 per hour.
