RN Charge Nurse - Medsurg Camden
Under the direction of a registered nurse, responsible for all identified nursing care behaviors within their span of control during their tour of duty and accountable to the Charge Nurse and/or designated individual. The LPN participates in the care of a defined patient population, assists with data collection, formulates plans for patient care, and evaluates outcomes of nursing actions.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Licensure as a licensed practical nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Ability to perform job duties while standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching in all directions, and reaching overhead.
- Ability to climb stairs, work indoors/outdoors in temperature extremes, work from elevated areas, and work in confined or cramped spaces.
- Required hand and motor skills: pinching, gross motor activity, firm grasping, fine manipulation, full use of both legs, lower-extremity balance, and coordination.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted; lift or lower 50 lbs. from the floor to 36 inches unassisted; lift 25 lbs. from 36 inches to overhead; and exert up to 50 lbs. of force (e.g., transferring patients, pushing wheelchairs or stretchers).
- Maintain 20/40 corrected vision in one or both eyes, distinguish colors, determine distance and depth perception, and maintain good peripheral vision and hearing acuity with correction.
- Ability to manage stressful situations, work rotating shifts, work overtime as required, and work in a latex-safe environment.
- Selected positions may require maintaining olfactory sensory function and physical qualification for respirator use.
Frequency requirements include continuous performance for most core physical, sensory, and environmental functions; frequent performance for elevated-area work, confined-space work, twisting, squatting, pinching, overhead reaching, lower-extremity balance, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, rotating shifts, and overtime; and infrequent performance for stair climbing, outdoor work in temperature extremes, kneeling, and specified lifting tasks.
