About the role
The Charge RN provides supervision of nursing and support staff on assigned shift in the correctional setting. They also provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients, working under the direction of the Director of Nursing and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing and support staff on assigned shift
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to identify and respond to physical and mental health needs
Requirements
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- BSN preferred but not required
- Current PPD documentation for tuberculosis screening
- Active CPR/BLS certification
- Prior experience providing nursing care and working with a high degree of autonomy
- Prior experience in supervising nursing staff
- Experience working in a correctional environment preferred
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, including drug screen and criminal background check
Qualifications
- Must hold valid RN license in Maryland
- BSN preferred but not required
- Must show/obtain current PPD documentation for tuberculosis screening
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in CPR/BLS
- Prior experience providing nursing care and working with a high degree of autonomy required
- Prior experience in supervising nursing staff preferred
- Experience working in a correctional environment preferred
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, including drug screen and criminal background check
