About the Role

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Delegate and supervise care delivery while documenting all actions.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and health management.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Identify variances from patient goals and implement corrective solutions.
• Additional PICC responsibilities as outlined in the attached job description.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• RN Lactation Consultant: IBCLC certification must be acquired within 12 months of hire and maintained.
• One to two (1-2) years as a Lactation Consultant/Specialist preferred.
• RN Wound Care: Completion of an accredited wound care program (before certification requirements).
• WOCNCB®/NCCA/CNA certification within 18 months of hire; certification must be maintained and current.
