RN-Cath Lab Electrophysiology Team

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Performs on the Cath Lab procedure team as circulator, scrub, or monitor.
  • Ensures patient is correctly prepped for the procedure.
  • Timely administration of medications to all patients, including the critically ill patient, and reporting abnormal information to the physician.
  • Safely and properly performs hemostasis with or without vascular devices.
  • Routinely enters and checks charges for accuracy.
  • Carefully educates patients and families based on assessed needs and documents education provided.
  • Clearly instructs patients on what to expect during the perioperative procedure.
  • Absolutely ensures safety and efficiency in a constantly alert state.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • EP Experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Constant use of speech.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception.
  • Frequent use of smell.
  • Frequent use of hearing.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional driving.
  • Rare crawling and running.

Professional License and Certifications

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN)
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
