Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with all invasive cardiac, vascular and interventional procedures.
- Demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care.
- Facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care.
- Use appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication.
- Aid patients through all aspects of the procedure, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedure, patient monitoring, and hemostasis following removal of catheter or sheath, and return to room.
- Manage emergent cases.
- Maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records.
- Complete all paperwork associated with these procedures and prepare tests for physician interpretation.
- Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and function well under stressful situations.
- Collaborate with fellow members of the team and orient as needed.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license in good standing.
- Associate’s Degree in nursing required, bachelor’s preferred.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) within six months of hire.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support or obtain within 90 days of date of hire.
- 1+ years of Cath Lab RN experience required, 2+ years of ICU experience would be considered.
