Responsibilities
- Performs the investigation, review, analysis and disposition of caregiver safety events through the event review structure.
- Reviews patient records for caregiver safety improvement projects, which may include audits, performance improvement, and work group initiatives.
- Facilitates cause analysis of actual or near miss events throughout the organization.
- Agregates and analyzes data for preparation of regular reports; identifies opportunities to improve patient safety; identifies trends and patterns related to near miss and actual events.
- Maintains a variety of computer databases to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of caregiver safety initiatives.
- Develops and provides education to caregivers, providers, leaders, and other key stakeholders to support the culture of safety.
- Conducts safety rounds to ensure compliance and to enhance Caregiver Safety improvement.
- Identifies trends and conducts gap analysis between current and desired outcomes and performance.
- Responds to caregiver safety needs at all INTEGRIS Health facilities, as needed or assigned.
- Supports the medical staff and assigned department to effectively measure, assess, and improve the safety of caregivers.
- Reports to the assigned Manager or Director.
Qualifications
- EXPERIENCE: 5 years recent experience in healthcare setting.
- LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: RN (Registered Nurse) Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) member state BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
- SKILLS: Proficiency with Microsoft office including power point, excel, publisher and database software such as access Excellent communication, oral presentation, and professional writing skills.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Engineering, Quality Management, Business Management, or Healthcare related field OR Associate’s degree in above-described areas plus an additional 2 years of full-time experience in healthcare operations.
