About the role
You will be responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit. Utilizes assessment, intervention, and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and enhance the quality of life for the patient/family unit. Provides oversight and supervision of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment. Required to float if needed.
Responsibilities
- Identify and coordinate patient/family needs
- Provide preventive and supportive care to terminally ill patients and their families
- Utilize assessment, intervention, and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and enhance quality of life
- Supervise LPNs and/or aides in delivering patient care in the GIP environment
- Float to other areas as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year recent bedside nursing experience
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- Minimum of six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse
- Valid Florida State Driver’s License
- Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience; experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life-threatening illnesses preferred
- One year of experience in an acute or post-acute care setting preferred

Schedule
Day shift, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, every other weekend
