RN - Cardiac Cath Lab

Join Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, a proud Magnet Hospital awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Our Cardiac Cath and EP Lab are expanding. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional patient care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, you will support cardiologists during invasive procedures involving the electrical system of the heart, including pacemakers and the treatment of dysrhythmias. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering healthcare education and helping to enhance the overall patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services in various healthcare settings
• Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings
• Perform telephone triage and call rotations
• Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications
• Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team
• Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning
• Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care
• Educate patients and families
• Cover other nursing roles in the department

Schedule

• Day/evening rotation from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire
• One year of recent experience as an RN, OR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• Two years of recent experience as an RN
• One year of critical care experience in a hospital setting
• Med/Surg, ICU or ED experience

Physical Requirements

• Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
• Standing and walking for extensive periods of time
• Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
• Some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids
• Medium Work: exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures

Pay

• Minimum hourly: $35.50
• Maximum hourly: $55.60
