Responsibilities

  • Supervise the provision of clinical and non-clinical services
  • Manage clinical operations, services, personnel, and office operations

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
  • Licensed in the state of practice (or in accordance with the board of nursing rules for nurse licensure compact)
  • At least two years of nursing experience within the immediately previous 36 months
  • One year of experience in home health
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulatory guidelines governing home care operations
  • Basic demonstrated technology skills, including operation of a mobile device

Preferred: Previous experience in management.

State-Specific Requirements

Arizona: Registered nurse with at least three years of nursing experience, including at least two years as a registered nurse providing home health services.

Connecticut: Registered nurse with an active license and one of the following:

  • Master’s degree from a program approved by the National League for Nursing or the American Public Health Association with a minimum of one year full-time clinical experience in home health or a related community health program
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a minimum of three years full-time clinical experience in nursing, with at least one year in home health or a community health program
  • Continuously employed as a supervisor of clinical services in a home health agency in Connecticut since January 1, 1979
  • Diploma or associate degree in nursing, three years of full-time clinical experience (with at least one year in home health or community health), and either certification as a community health nurse or completion of at least six credits in community health nursing theory or health care management within the past two years

Delaware: Registered nurse with at least one year of home health and supervisory experience.

Illinois: Bachelor’s degree in nursing and one year of nursing experience, or registered nurse with three years of experience, two of which must be in home health or a family-centered nursing program in a community health setting. Branch director and administrator roles may not be held simultaneously.

Maryland: 2-3 years of experience or education in community nursing (alternate branch director home health).

Requirements

  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Automobile liability insurance as required by law
  • Dependable transportation in good working condition
  • Ability to safely drive in all weather conditions
  • CPR certification
