RN - Behavioral Health Treatment Services (Wed to Sun)

About the role

WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care to a behavioral health and substance abuse population in Brooklyn, NY. The Registered Nurse will complete medical assessments and brief histories on all clients admitted to the program and will monitor and coordinate follow-up care as directed by the Program Director.

Responsibilities

• Complete screening, assessments, and care of every client seeking services (Adults/Youth/Children).
• Evaluate the severity of withdrawal symptoms using established screening tools (if appropriate to Substance Use clients).
• Coordinate delivery and reception of medications with the pharmacy.
• Document all medications received and coordinate management of the meds while the client is at the facility.
• Observe self-administration of medications.
• Monitor withdrawal symptoms during detoxification according to established protocols.
• Refer for required medical services as appropriate (Internal & External).
• Provide education and consultation to individual clients and/or groups on their health needs.
• Assure clients' compliance with prescribed medical regimens.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation on medical services rendered.
• Complete all clinical documentation in EHR and file all documents in the clients' charts upon completion.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies and coordinate replenishment with the Office Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s in Nursing preferred.
• Current NYS RN license.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience providing direct patient care to a behavioral/mental health population.
• Behavioral/mental health, substance abuse, detox/rehab, assessment, or related case management experience.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and chemical dependency preferred.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Assessment and case management experience.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
