About the Role

Spring Mountain Treatment Center is a 110-bed mental health facility providing acute crisis stabilization services for adults, teens, and children in a secure inpatient setting since 2001. Our individualized treatment includes a structured, therapeutic environment, intensive physician involvement and oversight, and daily group and educational programs. We provide a caring and healthy environment that gives individuals a chance to make positive changes.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is the clinical staff member who has daily interaction with patients. They present strong communication and observation skills as well as the ability to accurately process and document information. The RN provides structure and safety to the milieu environment as directed by hospital and unit procedures and manages patient behavior effectively. The RN develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership in organizing the delivery of patient care in an acute psychiatric setting for patients experiencing a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
• Serve as a nursing resource for staff and assist in teaching patients.
• Actively and constructively serve as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current Nevada RN licensure.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum one year of RN experience required; experience in a psychiatric setting highly preferred.
• Obtain BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Strong communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Good leadership qualities, including self-control, patience, and empathy.
• New hires are required to attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift (normally 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday).
• Must successfully pass a background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check).
