About the role
This position is responsible for performing all aspects of cellular therapy collections including granulocytes, whole blood, and any additional collection procedures as per NYBCe standard operating procedures and policies. Cellular therapy collections should be done in a manner that is consistent with current clinical practices and compliant with all regulatory requirements. A $2500 sign-on bonus is offered for this role.
Responsibilities
- Performs all cellular therapy collection procedures independently by identifying required criteria based on the collection protocol indicated, obtaining consent, reviewing regulatory documents, performing patient physical assessment, and documentation.
- Performs peripheral blood draws per NYBCe SOPs.
- Provides care and follow-up instructions related to access and reports any abnormal findings to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains regulatory binders and all required collection documentation in accordance with applicable cell therapy and research collection protocols, regulatory requirements, and sponsor-specific guidelines.
- Works with management, quality, and collections and cell sourcing leadership for the enterprise.
- Administers medications during procedures per physician’s orders and/or NYBCe SOPs.
- Schedules donors/patients and staff for cellular therapy collections.
- Performs pre/post-procedure physical assessment and reports abnormal findings to the appropriate physician as applicable.
- Provides guidance for staff assigned to perform cellular therapy collections.
- Performs assessment and intervention in response to adverse reactions/events and emergencies related to the procedure.
- Completes all required forms/electronic records.
- Operates equipment related to performing procedures, troubleshoots alarms, and reports abnormal findings.
- Performs quality control of all equipment used.
- Uses good customer service skills when providing education to patients, donors, and family as it relates to cellular therapy, specific procedures, and disease entities.
- Maintains inventory, reports supply needs, and assists with on-site par levels.
- May oversee staff training and assessments in absence of management.
- Reads and understands company and department-specific SOPs.
- Participates in client-specific training.
- Scans in work hours using the current Time Keeping System and completes monthly expense reports accurately and in a timely manner as per departmental policy.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent clinical nursing experience in medical-surgical, emergency, critical care, telemetry, or a related acute care setting preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in therapeutic apheresis, cellular therapy, and/or hematopoietic stem cell collection preferred.
- Competent in HPC, MNC, and clinical trials.
- Competent in PIV and CVC.
- MN RN Licensure upon hire and BCLS certification.

Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $39.00/hr.
