Responsibilities
- Accurately assesses the patient based on their medical condition.
- Knows and administers ordered medications as prescribed.
- Provides care appropriate to the patient's condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
- Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates its effectiveness.
- Demonstrates ability to use nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
- Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient care.
- Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
- Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family, and communicates with social services as needed.
- Promotes cost-effective practices and reduces the risk of unnecessary harm associated with healthcare.
- Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.
Specifications
Experience: Minimum 3 years in current unit or specialty area; or 4 years in acute care hospital setting or comparable specialty area; and provides evidence of 6 clinical nursing education contact hours within the last 12 months.
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licensure: RN; BLS certification within 14 days of hire; preferred ACLS/PALS specialty certification.
