Job Summary

This position is for night shift, 7p-7a.

• Implements and monitors implementation of established objectives, policies, and procedures concerning patients, visitors, staff, and/or physicians and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Collaborates with nursing management to appropriately allocate staff according to census, acuity/needs, and budget and maintains accurate staffing and attendance records.
• Directs subordinates during shift regarding their responsibilities, holds them accountable for the completion of work and patient care, and participates in performance appraisals and progressive discipline matters as indicated.
• Provides direction and clinical expertise to staff members and disseminates important updates from nursing/administration council meetings and hospital administration.
• Collaborates with appropriate health-care team members in the follow-up of incident reports and resolution of problems involving patients, family members, and/or physicians and communicates actions to nursing administrator and/or administrator on call.
• Serves on at least one nursing council, hospital, or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or work area demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.

Physical and Environmental Demands

• Occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations.

Requirements

• Education and Experience: Associate's degree in Nursing/Diploma . Bachelor's degree preferred. Five (5) years of RN experience, two (2) of those years in a supervisory or managerial role. Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor's program within one (1) year of hire and remain in good standing until program is completed.
• Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Valid RN license.
