RN- Acute Oncology Unit
About the Role
An opportunity to join Trinity Health Oakland, a 497-bed community teaching hospital and Level II trauma center in Oakland County. The 5 South unit is a 36-bed unit providing care for patients with diagnoses including Oncology, Hospice, Anemia, Hematology, Comfort Care, Palliative Care, Radiation or Nuclear Treatment, Chemotherapy administration (AML, CML, leukemia patients), and sickle cell.
The Registered Nurse is accountable for managing patient care during a designated timeframe, coordinating and evaluating care, teaching, and delegating patient activities to other healthcare team members. Responsibilities include implementing and evaluating the continuum plan of care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, actively supporting Shared Governance, and promoting organizational commitment to customer service.

- Assume a leadership role in providing professional nursing care to patients within Trinity Oakland Hospital.
- Actively support and participate in Shared Governance.

Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification for all RN Care Managers providing in-patient care at the bedside, including the Operating Room and Day Hospital.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required for roles in ER, ICU, CCU, PACU, Cardiac Med/Surg, Labor & Delivery, Endoscopy, Cath Lab, Special Procedures, Radiology, and the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
- Current Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENCP) for RN Care Managers working in the Emergency Room.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification for RN Care Managers in the Ambulatory Surgery Center and PACU.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRC) required for RN Care Managers in NICU and Labor & Delivery.
- Minimum two years' work experience as an RN on a medical/surgical type unit (for the Med/Surg Pool) or minimum two years' work experience as an RN in an ICU or Critical Care unit (for the Critical Care Pool).
Skills
- Excellent customer service orientation skills to effectively interact with various levels of hospital personnel, outside customers, and community groups.
