RN Acute Care of the Elderly
Our ACE unit/1D (Acute Care of the Elderly) is a 21-bed Med/Surg unit at Blodgett Hospital, specializing in the care of medical patients over the age of 65. Nurses on this unit are passionate about geriatric care and develop competence in a wide variety of diagnoses, including Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, Septic Shock, Acute Kidney Injuries, and Delirium. Teamwork and communication with the entire care team are vital to our unit’s success.
Blodgett Hospital, set within a serene property of mature trees and healing gardens, has provided high-quality, compassionate, and personalized medical care since 1846. As a community and teaching hospital, we offer patient-focused inpatient care in 248 private rooms and outpatient services for medical, surgical, and specialty care, consistently achieving high patient satisfaction.
About the Role
Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as defined by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds ANA standards of professional performance, encompassing ethical practice, culturally congruent care, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality of practice, professional evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Associate’s in Nursing (Required)
- Bachelor’s in Nursing (Required within 5 years)
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required)
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required within 90 days)
