About the role
As a Production Lead at Rosenbauer, you will assist in supervising the daily activities of a production area to ensure daily goals are met by helping to coordinate and organize tasks within your group.
Responsibilities
- Ensures volume, cost, waste, and quality standards of the department are achieved.
- Works directly with material specialists to assure accurate and prompt delivery of materials.
- Collaborates with engineering to resolve issues related to BoMs, design, and process to prevent line stoppages.
- Ensures compliance with all safety policies and initiatives, including maintaining orderly workspaces.
- Trains and instructs line personnel, monitors production progress, and communicates with supervisors on performance and discrepancies.
- Monitors build book signoffs, ensuring completeness of areas of accountability.
- Provides backup support for supervisors regarding company guidelines, conduct, policies, and ethics.
- Provides feedback to supervisors on individual employee’s work performance.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet department needs.
Tools to be utilized
- Hand tools, power tools, grinders, air buffer/sander, air blower, and paint gun (paint lead).
- Welders (welding lead).
- Fabrication machines like shear, brake, laser, and time saver (fabrication lead).
Qualifications
Knowledge, Education, and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of department-specific experience required.
- 1+ years of Rosenbauer build process experience required.
- 3+ years of department-specific experience preferred.
Skills
Language- Able to read and work from blueprints and specification books.
- Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
- Able to follow written and verbal directions.
- Able to give verbal and written directions that can be followed.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Smartsheets.
- Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information or changes related to the build process and troubleshoot.
Abilities
- Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
- Able to prioritize work and multitask while adhering to deadlines.
- Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
- Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
Other Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license may be required to drive to other buildings to locate parts.
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally, with overtime as needed.
- May need to travel locally or overnight for tradeshows, trainings, or other Rosenbauer-sponsored events.
- May be required to obtain a forklift license.
