Responsibilities

  • Performs owner and subcontractor contract reviews
  • Utilizes manager support for client calls and negotiations
  • Affirms project risks including but not limited to contractual risk, insurable risk, safety, subcontractor risk, and quality
  • Safeguards and promotes the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters as well as demonstrates the personal characteristics of a developing leader
  • Coordinates insurance pricing with the Insurance Specialist for various insurance programs
  • Communicates all project billing parameters including insurance rates and rate basis to Divisions, BUs, project teams, and Corporate Accounting
  • Supports assigned BUs including, but not limited to, Project Executives, Business Development, Estimating, Purchasing, Project Management, Project Engineers, Superintendents, or Accounting in making proper risk management decisions, and provides training as needed
  • Maintains relationships with BU leadership to ensure alignment and set strategy for insurance program traction
  • Represents Gilbane Insurance Group (GIG) in Gilbane peer groups as needed
  • Tracks level 2/3 pursuits and assesses project risks and how best to protect Gilbane from risks
  • Communicates Level 3 recommendations to GIG Department Head prior to the Enterprise Risk Review
  • Supports and collaborates with all GIG department members as needed
  • Supports the internal audit process of projects within the applicable BUs
  • Counsels and mentors less experienced team members
  • Supports a positive and inclusive work environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 3-7 years of experience in the construction or risk management industries
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of the insurance market including coverages, trends, and pricing
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function as an integral part of a team while being highly collaborative
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Understanding issues quickly and following through with a resolution
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong problem solving, planning, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and other critical RMIS software
  • Ability to work independently and handle complex issues while under moderate supervision

Benefits

The pay ranges from $83,000-$122,000 plus benefits and retirement program. Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
