Key Responsibilities
- Prepare necessary data for insurance renewal to obtain insurance and other risk transfers at the most advantageous terms and costs.
- Serve as the system administrator for the Risk Management Information System, including provisioning system access and ensuring data integrity and security.
- Analyze trends in claim data that may impact the company's cost of risk.
- Manage check issuance from the claim system and check vendor and balance related accounts.
- Report claims financial activity to the Finance department monthly and respond to inquiries regarding the drivers of trends.
- Maintain a listing of active bonds and authorize renewal or cancellation with the assistance of the broker.
- Maintain an accurate list of vendors requiring certificates of insurance and distribute Ingles Certificates of Insurance.
- Receive, approve, and track all incoming Certificates of Insurance from Ingles vendors.
- Advise business partners on the appropriate level of insurance required for each vendor.
- Maintain and expand best practices and systems for contract management at Ingles.
- Manage assigned workers' compensation and general liability claims from initial report through resolution.
- Provide the Director of Safety with reports to focus safety efforts on areas of need.
- Prepare loss data and other information required to perform the annual actuarial study.
- Prepare the quarterly actuarial monitoring model to the Director of Risk Management and Finance department.
- Cook up information needed for premium audits from insurance carriers.
- Work with the claims department, RMIS vendor, and CMS vendor to coordinate accurate CMS Section 111 compliance and reporting.
- Work with the RMIS vendor to ensure the company follows all state EDI reporting standards.
- Complete annual filings with various self-insured state regulatory organizations to maintain self-insured status in all self-insured states.
- Coordinate the discovery response process for claims handled by risk management.
- Respond to non-party subpoenas.
- Ensure compliance with company rules and policies.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent degree in a related field required.
- Extensive experience with RMIS, Power BI, and Excel is required.
- Experience in Accounting and Financial functions preferred.
- A strong understanding of insurance coverages and policy language is required.
- Strong skills in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in claim handling in a self-administered environment is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to adapt quickly in a dynamic work environment.
