Risk Examiner
This is a fully-remote, contract role for an experienced Risk Examiner to support a banking client on a project basis.
Responsibilities
- Advise banking client on risk management practices, governance, and regulatory expectations.
- Assess enterprise, credit, operational, liquidity, and market risk programs.
- Provide guidance based on experience conducting safety and soundness examinations for federal banking regulators.
- Review policies, controls, and risk frameworks to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with client leadership and project teams to deliver regulatory and risk-focused initiatives.
- Support project planning, stakeholder communication, and engagement execution as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or other related fields.
- Prior experience as a Commissioned Examiner from the FDIC, OCC, or Federal Reserve.
- 7+ years of relevant examiner experience.
- Must reside in the continental U.S.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Pay
The salary range for this role varies by location as follows:
- Colorado: $110,000 – $150,000
- California: $120,000 – $160,000
- New York: $120,000 – $160,000
- Maryland: $110,000 – $150,000
- Massachusetts: $110,000 – $150,000
- Illinois: $110,000 – $150,000
- New Jersey: $110,000 – $150,000
- Vermont: $100,000 – $140,000
- Washington: $115,000 – $155,000
Total compensation includes salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime pay at 1.5 times the hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. Benefits are eligibility-based. Talent Shift reserves the right to adjust the salary range based on business needs.
