About the role

The Insurance Actuarial Advisory Service (IAAS), Property & Casualty (PC) practice within FSO is seeking an individual with experience in pricing, data analytics, and operational management. This position reports directly to the Leader of the IAAS, Property & Casualty Actuarial Advisory practice.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver EY’s actuarial transformation and premium acceleration service offerings
  • Develop efficiencies throughout the practice
  • Streamline the operational aspects of the group
  • Participate on engagement teams focused on reserving, actuarial opinion and regulatory services, predictive modeling and customer analytics, actuarial transformation®, and modeling
  • Rate setting all lines of business
  • Financial forecasting, valuation
  • Product development
  • Mentor and develop junior team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
  • Approximately 6+ years of experience in an actuarial-oriented position
  • Minimum of 2 years of project or people management responsibility
  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society required, Fellowship preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience with Excel, SAS, VBA, and/or C++
  • Strong writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to understand and persuade on complex subjects both in writing and verbally
  • Experience working in a team environment on project-based work
  • Previous consulting experience or experience implementing new processes/procedures in a corporate environment
  • Experience with loss reserving software
  • Experience with rating engines and platforms
  • Experience with advanced analytics including knowledge of R, SQL, Python or similar data and analytics programming languages

  • Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge
  • Possess good business acumen and remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge
  • Develop a strong personal brand and enhance the EY brand by writing articles, participating in industry groups, and speaking at seminars
  • Cultivate a good working relationship with the senior managers, fellow managers, and staff on the team

Pay

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $146,500 to $268,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $175,700 to $305,200. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
