Risk Analyst - Risk Management - Central Regional Hospital

About the role

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a large agency responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of North Carolinians. The Quality Assurance/Standards Specialist (NS) position investigates incidents at the facility and collaborates with patient advocates on management investigations related to abuse, neglect, exploitation, or rights infringement.

Responsibilities

• Investigate incidents occurring at the facility
• Document findings regarding overall quality of care and violations of facility policy
• Develop and implement follow-up actions and improvement strategies
• Participate in audits related to patient safety and inspections
• Assist with the development of improvement strategies for patient safety processes and procedures
• Review incident reports and adverse event data to identify trends
• Ensure timely review of video surveillance

Requirements

• Knowledge of inpatient hospital systems, preferably in psychiatric settings
• Working knowledge of risk management and performance improvement
• Ability to develop recommendations and provide consultation
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Good analytical skills and flexibility with scheduling

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, social work, education, health, business administration, or related human service field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in professional level treatment programming for the applicable client population
• Bachelor's degree in one of the fields listed above from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience as indicated above
• An equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,881.00 - $106,544.00, with a recruitment range of $60,881 - $70,000. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications are eligible for the position.

Schedule

Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Flexibility is required to meet hospital needs.
