About the role
Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges. In this role, you will serve as a critical, foundational pillar within Google's risk management function.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary risk and insurance hub, delivering executive-level insights on exposures, financial performance, and claims trends.
- Oversee financial data synchronization and reporting across Alphabet entities to maintain strict reporting standards and compliance.
- Develop profitability benchmarks, global performance indicators, and advanced analytics in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive alignment and collaborate with commercial business partners on high-stakes strategic initiatives.
- Advise on risk mitigation and insurance provisions to facilitate contract negotiations across the Alphabet portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of analysis, accounting, or analytics related experience in an insurance or financial services environment.
- Experience with risk management, insurance, and captive insurance companies.
- Experience working with insurance financial statements and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) accounting standards.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced degree (e.g., MS/MBA).
- Designations (Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)).
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Agentic processes and AI-related skills.
- Ability to deliver high-quality presentation materials in tight time frames.
- Excellent project management skills with a focus on organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication and team-work skills, including working with various internal stakeholders.
Pay
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $116000 - $166000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
