About the Role

Join Baker Tilly’s Risk Advisory practice, one of the fastest growing consulting and accounting firms in the country. This role offers the opportunity to lead a highly dynamic team focused on providing exceptional client service in risk and advisory. The practice provides a full spectrum of services to help public sector clients assess risks, develop competitive strategies, and achieve their goals through deep industry knowledge of risk, governance, internal audit, compliance, IT, and cybersecurity best practices. Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, management, and strategic direction with a focus on exceptional client service, team development, and financial success.
  • Translate firm vision and strategy into an actionable business plan, set specific objectives, and monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop sales and marketing plans, expand services within existing client bases, and pursue new clients; actively participate in proposals.
  • Coordinate firm resources to deliver the best products and services to clients.
  • Ensure team members receive meaningful training, development opportunities, challenging work, timely feedback, and positive recognition.
  • Oversee practice profitability, including effective personnel utilization, appropriate service rates, and timely fee collection.
  • Work closely with client executives to understand their businesses and identify, assess, and manage financial and operational risks, including technology risks.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of clients’ businesses and industries through direct interaction and engagement across multiple aspects of their operations.
  • Think independently and strategically about clients’ business systems and risks, providing recommendations for business and process improvements.
  • Provide strategic business advice to clients by assisting in the implementation of new processes and controls that address key risks.
  • Assess, manage, and optimize business risk across operational audit, enterprise risk management (ERM), and SOX compliance.
  • Review clients' processes and controls against industry frameworks, identify gaps in design and execution, and communicate issues and recommendations.
  • Lead new business development, including identifying, sourcing, pursuing, and winning risk advisory opportunities.
  • Produce comprehensive executive summaries and final reports for clients, documenting and reviewing engagement work papers in accordance with industry-accepted internal audit methodologies.
  • Act as a valued business advisor, build client relationships, and communicate effectively to provide superior client service.
  • Lead professional and effective presentations to internal and external audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, or a related program.
  • CPA or CIA designation(s) required.
  • Ten (10)+ years of experience with risk advisory, internal/external audit, business process reengineering, and/or internal controls, with preference for experience in technology, real estate, life sciences, financial services, or health systems.
  • Five (5)+ years of supervisory experience, including mentoring and counseling associates.
  • Proven track record of building and growing a Risk Advisory practice, including team development, client base expansion, and revenue management.
  • Demonstrated ability in new business development.
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and commit to continuous learning to stay current with applicable strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to see the "big picture," along with a commitment to ethical standards and timely project completion.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client engagements.

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $201,810 to $382,600. Actual compensation is influenced by skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
