Rising Star Faculty Researchers - Fixel Institute
About the Role
The University of Florida and the Norman Fixel Institute are seeking rising star faculty researchers for full-time endowed faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Appointments are available on the tenure or non-tenure track. Ideal candidates are late-stage Assistant Professors or Associate Professors who have demonstrated early success in establishing independent research programs, including securing independent grant funding.
These positions offer the potential for dedicated research space and generous start-up packages. The final rank, track, and academic home will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and alignment with the mission of the institute, college, and university.
Researchers in clinical, translational, or foundational science fields are encouraged to apply. The Norman Fixel Institute specializes in Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, ALS, Traumatic Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, and related diseases. The institute features a dedicated campus with an interdisciplinary clinical-research center and thousands of square feet of research space, fostering seamless collaboration across disciplines.
Faculty will benefit from close collaboration with the McKnight Brain Institute (MBI), the Center for Translational Research in Neurogenerative Diseases (CTRND), the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), and UF Health’s standalone Neuromedicine Hospital. The University of Florida is a top-tier research university, consistently ranked among the top 10 institutions nationally in NIH funding for neuroscience.

Requirements
- Applicants must possess a M.D., D.O., M.D.-Ph.D., or Ph.D. in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Success in obtaining extramural funding is highly desired.
