Rising Roots Youth Farming Coordinator

About the role

Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) is dedicated to empowering youth and supporting community-based agriculture initiatives in Tacoma, WA. As the full-time Rising Roots Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery and coordination of the Rising Roots youth microgreens and urban agriculture workforce development program.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate weekly program sessions for youth participants
• Support youth engagement, mentorship, and participation tracking throughout the program
• Oversee planting, growing, and harvesting processes in microgreens and urban agriculture projects
• Track program data and outcomes to ensure effective delivery and impact
• Manage partnerships, outreach efforts, and program logistics with community stakeholders
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for youth development and workforce training

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in program coordination or youth development
• Experience working with youth ages 16-25
• Experience working with diverse communities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
• Experience using Monday.com for project tracking or CRM
• Experience with microgreens production or urban agriculture programs
• Able to lift 30-40 lbs and perform standing, bending, and light labor indoors and outdoors
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between the classroom, greenhouse, garden, and community sites

Skills

• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills
• Experience with project management tools like Monday.com
• Knowledge of microgreens production and urban agriculture
