Right-of-Way Agent / Land Acquisition Specialist

About the role

Southeastern Land Company, Inc. (SLC) | South Carolina and North Carolina SLC is seeking a detail-oriented Right-of-Way Agent to support land acquisition for utility and infrastructure projects. In this field-based role, you will work with property owners to secure easements, rights-of-way, and property acquisitions while coordinating with project teams and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate easements, rights-of-way, and property acquisitions with landowners.
• Research property ownership, titles, and parcel information.
• Present offers and explain project impacts clearly and professionally.
• Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers.
• Document communications and transactions in digital records.
• Follow client guidelines and project requirements.

Requirements

• Active real estate license in South Carolina or North Carolina.
• Active notary commission in South Carolina or North Carolina.
• Reliable vehicle and ability to provide a computer with Windows 11, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and a printer.

Qualifications

• Right-of-way, real estate, or land acquisition work.
• Reading maps, plats, and legal descriptions.
• Utility, infrastructure, transportation, or electrical transmission and distribution projects.
• Projects funded by federal or state agencies, including DOT, FEMA, or HUD.

Skills

• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently in the field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe software.
