Job Responsibilities
Oversees/manages staff in the acquisition of right-of-way, relocation, appraisals, quality control, payment of claims, data management, and disposal of surplus property as required for roadway construction pursuant to all applicable federal and state laws.
Captures and coordinates with other Agency units concerning project management, schedules, plans preparation/delivery, and obligation of right of way funds.
May serve as Assistant Director of Right of Way and act in the absence of the Director of Right of Way when necessary to include signature authority.
Attends project meetings, conference calls, etc. with Agency staff, outside legal counsel, and outside vendors and provide instruction on appropriate path forward for issue resolution.
Serves as resource in the development and preparation of all-consultant/professional service contracts, appraisal contracts.
Prepares written and/or verbal correspondence and reports in response to inquiries from landowners, internal units, and the general public.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A bachelor's degree and five and one-half (5.5) years of right-of-way, real estate, property appraisal, or related experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
- A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
Physical Demands
- Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards.
Additional Information
- Some overnight travel may be required.
