Pay Grade 13 | Salary $3,273.74 - $4,910.60 Monthly | Full-time, 37.5 hours per week | Eligible for overtime pay
About the Role

By joining our Right of Way Section as a Right of Way Agent II in Jefferson County, you’ll perform intermediate-level professional work in one or more phases of the highway Right of Way program.
This position involves traveling through eight counties to acquire land for highway construction. Duties include meeting landowners at various properties with rough terrain, conducting computer-based document research, and communicating with prospective sellers via phone.
Responsibilities
- Gather data to write appraisals
- Examine records for title abstractions
- Initiate and provide relocation assistance
- Handle the disposal of improvements on properties and environmental cleanup

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
Experience, Training, or Skills: Two years of experience under eminent domain laws in highway Right-of-Way appraisal, negotiation, property management, and/or relocation assistance.
- Substitute Experience for Education: Broad experience in one of the following areas may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis:
- Professional duties related to research and preparation of documented appraisals for Right-of-Way acquisition
- Initiating and conducting negotiations leading to approved settlements or condemnation
- Providing relocation assistance, including reimbursement of moving expenses and replacement housing computations
- Handling disposal of improvements and environmental cleanup on properties, including hazardous materials
- Current or prior military experience may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis.
Special Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must provide documentation of being a Notary Public commissioned and bonded in Kentucky within six months of employment.
- Must maintain any required licensure, certification, or credentials for the duration of employment.
