Requirements
- Select and use of wire rope, chain and synthetic web slings, rigging hardware, and lifting devices
- Interpretation of rated charts for rigging gear
- Safe rigging practices and procedures
- Hand and radio communications
- Determination of weight and center of gravity of loads
- Select and use of hoists, chain falls and come-alongs
- Lifting and Handling gear inspection
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent or 2+ years relevant technical experience
- 0-5 years of relevant experience
- Must be able to work all shifts
- Previous rigging experience preferred
- Successful completion of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative Training Program preferred
- Must be able to read and understand shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, etc.
- Must be able to work all shifts, perform work from heights
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
