Team Elmer's seeks a Rigger & CDL A Truck Driver to transport construction equipment and materials, support crane operations, and perform rigging tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre- and post-trip truck inspections
  • Transport rigging equipment as required
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
  • Secure loads in or on trucks, with knowledge of load limits (weights)
  • Handle basic truck maintenance, including fueling, checking oil, and cleaning
  • Advise shop of major repairs and maintenance needs
  • Haul counterweights for cranes
  • Set up and break down rigging equipment
  • Accurately rig equipment/machinery and signal to crane operators
  • Ensure machinery, equipment, and structures are set, aligned, and leveled
  • Maintain control of all loads at all times, including maneuvering through difficult and confined spaces
  • Signal directions and warnings to coworkers as needed
  • Communicate effectively with all team members
  • Monitor and maintain rigging equipment for safety
  • Report all safety concerns/issues immediately
  • Work cooperatively with others to complete jobs
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hard hat, reflective vest, fall protection)
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA, MIOSHA, MSHA, and ANSI regulations

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with at least two years of professional driving experience and a good driving record for the past 3–5 years
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • One to three years of related experience in rigging/signaling or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Familiarity with safety equipment and working knowledge of rigging equipment
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual labor, including lifting, carrying, climbing, and walking (repetitive lifting of 50+ pounds)
  • Ability to work long hours, 5–6 days a week, in all environmental and demanding conditions
  • Good work ethic, punctuality, and alertness
  • Ability to follow all company, NCCCO, DOT, MSHA, OSHA, and MiOSHA safety rules
  • Previous heavy-haul experience transporting construction equipment and materials beneficial
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence as needed
  • Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders, scaffolding, etc.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift to move 5,000–80,000 lbs preferred
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings
  • Mechanical knowledge of equipment, machines, and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
