Rigger

About the Role

RMS is looking to add an experienced full-time Rigger to our growing branch. The Rigger ensures safety first, assists the crane operator on job tasks during crane operation, and provides rigging operation and hand signals to ensure safe lifting of the load.

Responsibilities

• Reviews next day(s) job assignments at the end of the shift.
• Assists the crane operator in the proper set-up and maintenance of the crane and accessory equipment (e.g., pickup trucks, haul trucks, trailers).
• Performs proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load.
• Utilizes proper hand signals during all crane operations.
• Loads, secures, and transports equipment (spreader bars, mats, counterweights, etc.) to job sites.
• Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles.
• Inspects truck and trailer, fills out inspection reports, and submits them to the proper supervisor.
• Reports mechanical defects in writing on trucks and/or trailers to the shop technician or supervisor.
• Monitors inventory of chains, boomers, and straps; reports missing equipment to the supervisor.
• Inspects, cleans, and performs maintenance on chains, boomers, and straps.
• Documents and submits all maintenance and repairs performed on equipment to the proper supervisor.
• Monitors annual State inspections and license plates, reporting to the supervisor one month before expiration.
• Reports job completion to Dispatcher immediately for next assignment.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of rigging experience required.
• Commercial driving experience preferred.
• Advanced Rigger certification required.
