Rigger Apprentice Trainee

About the role

MEI Industrial Solutions is a leading provider of rigging, machinery moving, millwrighting, mechanical installation, industrial storage, crating, and export packing services. The Rigger Apprenticeship Trainee Program is designed for individuals without prior knowledge of the machinery moving industry or rigging skills, offering a pathway to a fulfilling career as a skilled Rigger with potential for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Moving heavy, expensive, and often sensitive equipment in various industrial settings.
• Ensuring safety, professionalism, and expertise in all rigging tasks.
• Participating in hands-on training, activities, and assessments in lab or field environments.
• Gaining proficiency in rigging skills and knowledge necessary for various machinery moving/rigging positions.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Commitment to learning and willingness to complete all program assignments and assessments.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness and ability to travel for training, if applicable.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform general physical activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round.
• Team-oriented and able to display high levels of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
• Desire to communicate openly and achieve peak performance in daily tasks.
• Interest in delivering quality service to MEI's diverse customer base.
