Position overview

We are seeking a California-licensed Insurance Defense Attorney with experience handling complex auto and bodily injury claims, specifically involving rideshare platforms (e.g., Uber/Lyft). This role is fully remote within California and offers the opportunity to manage a dynamic caseload from inception through resolution, including high-exposure matters.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of insurance defense matters involving rideshare accidents and liability claims
• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
• Analyze claims involving layered insurance coverage (personal vs. commercial/rideshare policies)
• Represent drivers, transportation network companies, and/or insurers in state courts throughout California
• Conduct legal research and draft reports, motions, and coverage evaluations
• Collaborate with claims adjusters, experts, and clients to develop case strategy
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing
• 2+ years of insurance defense or personal injury litigation experience
• Experience with auto liability and/or rideshare (Uber/Lyft) matters strongly preferred
• Familiarity with California insurance regulations and coverage issues
• Deposition and motion practice experience required; trial experience is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment

Preferred experience

• Prior experience representing Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) or handling rideshare claims
• Understanding of Prop 22 implications and TNC insurance frameworks
• Experience managing high-volume caseloads and meeting billable requirements
