About the role
As a Full-Time Ride Mechanic at Dorney Park, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of amusement rides and attractions.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections of amusement rides and related equipment.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, repairs, and tests on rides and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and take appropriate corrective actions on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and work performed.
- Communicate ride statuses verbally and in writing.
- Apply information from manufacturer's manuals for service, repair, and component replacement.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in assigned areas and report unsafe conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least 18 years old.
- State Ride Inspector Certification within one year, provided through training.
- 2 to 4 years of mechanical experience, preferably in industrial, automotive, or amusement settings.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical principles, including gear ratios, torque, and common hand tools.
- Familiarity with bearings, bushings, couplers, shafting, and similar power transmission components.
- Understanding of pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems, ideally both.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Ability to work safely at heights up to 300 feet above ground.
- Valid PA driver’s license.
