Position Summary
About the Role
This position manages facilities operations including housekeeping, maintenance, and custodial activities. It also develops, monitors, and controls the facilities budget, coordinates long-range maintenance plans, and interacts with complex residents, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Develops, monitors, and controls the facilities budget of the complex.
- Prepares periodic reports including financial forecasts.
- Counsels, assists, and provides information to residents, faculty, and staff.
- Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines subordinate supervisory and support staff.
- Coordinates long-range maintenance plans with the Physical Plant and Construction, Maintenance & Interior Design.
- Inspects buildings to ensure compliance with safety and mandated regulations.
- Assists in coordinating special events, projects, daily activities, and conference services for the complex.
- Provides technical advice and supervises repair and maintenance of facilities and building equipment.
- Assists in planning and organizing objectives and long-range programs for Departmental operations.
- Performs related duties as assigned, including supervising and assisting various staff and departments.
Requirements
- Knowledge equivalent to a four-year college degree in Business, Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management, or Human Relations.
- Five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in facilities management supervision, labor scheduling, cost control techniques, financial analysis and forecasting, and budgeting.
- Valid vehicle operator's license where needed to perform duties of the position.
