RHRP Optometry Technician

About the role

We are seeking an Optometry Technician to support vision exams and treatment for our Military Service members. The position involves working weekends primarily in the State of _______ on an "as needed" basis.

Responsibilities

• Helping the optometrist with procedures and patient care
• Taking patient histories and maintaining the patient records system
• Aiding patients in selecting frames for their glasses
• Demonstrating care and maintenance of lenses to patients
• Repairing minor issues with broken and damaged eyeglasses
• Keeping the office organized and presentable, and preparing the exam room
• Testing visual acuity, depth perception, pressure, and pupil reflexes

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography
• Experience with computers, including knowledge of and experience with word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
• Must have own transportation for site traveling

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current certification as an Optometric Technician from the American Board of Opticianry (ABO)
