About the role
The role of the Rheumatology Medical Assistant (MA-C) or LPN involves providing comprehensive support to rheumatologists and their teams. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, managing medical records, and ensuring smooth operations within the department.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care including intake assessments, medication management, and coordination of care plans.
- Manage and maintain accurate medical records according to HIPAA guidelines.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to team initiatives.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and handling correspondence.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong computer skills, particularly proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Skills
- Proficient in electronic health record systems.
- Knowledge of rheumatology principles and practices.
