Rheumatologist
About the role
Cottage Medical Group is actively seeking a second full-time Rheumatologist to join a new and growing practice in Santa Barbara. The Rheumatologist will collaborate with external referring physicians to provide continuous care and assist patients with appropriate treatment and follow-up as clinically indicated.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct medical care and evaluate and manage adult Rheumatology patients seeking treatment
- Perform in-office minor procedures such as joint injections
- Collaborate with the care team to follow evidence-based guidelines and maintain high professional standards of clinical practice
- Participate in inpatient care during protected time during office hours
Requirements
- Minimum: Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (DO)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in the physician's associated specialty
- Minimum: Physician's unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California
- Valid Drug Enforcement Agency license - DEA Schedule 2-5
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 45 days
- Preferred: Successful completion of specialty fellowship
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics
- Broad knowledge of common medication, side effects, and contraindications
- In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices
- Proven experience working in clinical practice as a physician

Pay
Pay for non-physician positions is determined based on related years of experience and internal equity. Eligible employees may also receive additional forms of compensation, including shift differentials, on-call pay, incentive pay, and bonus opportunities, where applicable.
