Rheumatologist
Job Overview
The Rheumatologist will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal conditions. The role evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, osteoarthritis, gout, and osteoporosis. The Rheumatologist collaborates with primary care, specialty, and interdisciplinary teams to promote timely access, coordinated care, continuity, and high-quality patient outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics and fellowship training in Rheumatology.
- Valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California.
- Board certification in Rheumatology required or Board Eligible, with the expectation to become board certified within 18 months of employment.
- Current DEA registration and controlled substance certification, as required for the position.
- Education, training, and experience sufficient to meet AltaMed's malpractice insurance underwriting requirements.
- Experience with biologic therapies and infusion management.
- A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
- Previous experience with computer-based systems required; Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese may be preferred based on location.
Compensation
$264,010.24 - $330,012.80 annually
Actual salary offers are considered by various factors, including budget, experience, skills, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. The range is subject to change.
