About the role
The primary function of this position is to support the day-to-day responsibilities of the warehouse supervisor applicable to the shift, and to provide direction to the warehouse staff as they support Planning, Production, Sales, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing operations.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize material handler workload.
- Promote a TEAM attitude between shifts, employees, and departments.
- Provide direction to team members in all areas of the warehouse, including staging of work orders, shipping and receiving, transportation, and other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Accurately record, both manually and electronically, the movement of material.
- Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to inventory, receiving, and shipping.
- Participate in company initiatives, including promoting a safe work environment and supporting 5S activities.
- Assist in training and retraining warehouse employees on forklift use, SOPs, and warehouse work practices.
- Write warehouse CGMP investigations.
- Monitor and enforce safe work practices.
- Coordinate movement of released components.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
- Maintain and ensure adherence to housekeeping and safety standards.
- Provide back-up function for all warehouse activities when necessary.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, and rules.
- Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.
- This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.
Requirements
- Required skills testing at approved grade level for the position.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Basic computer skills: ability to perform basic computer tasks and operate common computer programs.
- Minimum professional proficiency in speaking, reading, and understanding standard written materials.
- Intermediate reasoning: ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Employees who have received a counseling report for a violation occurring within the last 3 months are not eligible to apply for open positions.
Qualifications
- Preferred: High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
- Ability to display original thinking and creativity.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Pay
The hiring rate for this position is $22.15–$24.92 per hour, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including specific and relevant experience, education, credentials, geography, and subject matter expertise.
