RF Test Technician
About the role
The RF Test Technician II position involves performing a variety of electronic testing operations, with a focus on tuning and biasing state-of-the-art RF electronic assemblies and subassemblies for the Department of War. The role requires launching and testing circuits in fixtures to specifications, biasing FETs and/or transistors, and participating in continuous improvement and team building activities.
Responsibilities
- Biasing FETs (Field Effect Transistor) and/or transistors
- Becoming more proficient in testing and tuning standard catalog amplifiers from 10MHz to 18GHz
- Participating in continuous improvement and team building activities
- Maintaining productive working relationships with all team members
- Applying RF fundamentals including but not limited to RF Gain, Gain Flatness, Gain Matching Return Loss P1 dB Compression, phase/phase tracking
- Becoming more proficient in RF theory and principals
- Honing skills in testing for gain, gain flatness, noise figure, VSWR, P1dB, IP3 and phase
- Calibration of test equipment
- Tuning and troubleshooting
- Operating test equipment like DC power supplies, RF signal generators, scalar and network analyzers
- Understanding DC theory (Ohm's Law)
- Following ESD procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- Familiar with computers (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to clearly communicate in written and spoken English
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain US DoW Secret Clearance
- AS degree in EE, EET, or similar
- Preferred experience in tuning RF thin film circuits
Skills
Skills in RF fundamentals, RF theory, and principles are essential. Knowledge of DC theory, including Ohm's Law, is also required. Familiarity with test equipment and ability to follow ESD procedures are necessary.

Full-time equivalent job grade salary range for this position is $44,000.00 - $88,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees $49,300.00 - $98,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA $51,900.00 - $103,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ. Mercury provides a variety of benefits including bonuses, health, life, and disability insurance, company-paid holidays and time off, 401(k) retirement plan, discounted employee stock purchase plan, tuition reimbursement, and access to professional development and personal wellness platforms. Directors or Vice Presidents are also eligible to receive annual stock-based awards. Mercury offers a 9/80 alternative work schedule.
