General Job Summary
The RF Test Technician is responsible for building, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electronic and RF systems, assemblies, and sub-assemblies. This role requires hands-on expertise with digital and RF circuitry, including UHF, L-Band, S-Band, and C-Band technologies, as well as proficiency with advanced electronic test equipment.
The technician ensures all products meet performance specifications, supports production and engineering teams, and maintains calibration and reliability of test stations and manufacturing equipment.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform a wide range of test operations and troubleshoot electronic assemblies down to the component level on printed circuit boards.
- Apply strong knowledge of electronic circuit theory.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of RF circuits and components used in UHF, L-Band, S-Band, and C-Band receivers and transmitters.
- Collaborate effectively with the assembly team to support on-time product shipments.
- Diagnose test failures and coordinate corrective actions.
- Utilize advanced test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters, and multimeters.
- Calibrate electronic test equipment and test stations.
- Ensure all test equipment is fully operational and properly calibrated at all times.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Manage workload to meet production schedules, return deadlines, and budget requirements.
- Provide accurate, timely updates for production and return-tracking documentation.
- Maintain consistent attendance at the assigned worksite during scheduled hours, excluding approved PTO or leave.
Other Job Functions
- Collaborate with Engineering to develop test procedures and policies as needed.
- Train, mentor, and provide guidance to junior technicians.
- Support Engineering in developing test processes for products in the development phase.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Proven proficiency with advanced test equipment, including proper operation and safety practices.
- Strong communication skills.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a test technician.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of digital and RF electronic circuit operation and troubleshooting.
- Completion of electronic technician training, an AS degree in Electronic Technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Work performed in a production environment.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, including fine finger and manual dexterity for small-parts assembly.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- 20/20 vision and color vision (corrected or uncorrected).
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, when required.
