Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer you will apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. You will interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts, and communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

You will be responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288. You will perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Areas associated with the ISO/IEC 15288.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
  • Analysis at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

Requirements

Must have current TS/SCI with Poly. A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience. Alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of general system engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

Additional requirements include:

  • Experience with coding Python and Visual Basic for applications
  • Strong experience in applying RF theoretical and academic knowledge in EMI testing unintended emissions within HF, VHF, and UHF spectrum
  • Familiarity with RF tools and components
  • Formulating and documenting test plans
  • Drafting and issuing technical recommendations through formal test reports
  • Specifying and/or reviewing system and component technical performance requirements

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of systems engineering experience. A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three (3) years of systems engineering experience.

Skills

Preferred but not required to have experience in electromagnetic compatibility testing, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and/or antenna calibration.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $95,900.00 - $178,100.00. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market (work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

Schedule

Must be able to travel 3 times per year for 7-10 days at a time. For Washington state applicants only, non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
