Responsibilities

  • Develop RF system architectures, block diagrams, and subsystem specifications to satisfy performance, cost, schedule, and manufacturability objectives.
  • Design, simulate, and analyze RF and mixed-signal circuits, including filters, amplifiers, matching networks, and analog/digital interfaces.
  • Perform system-level modeling, trade studies, and performance analysis to evaluate and optimize design solutions.
  • Define and execute validation, characterization, and compliance test plans to verify system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with RF, PCB, and Mechanical designers to optimize RF layout, signal integrity, thermal performance, EMI/EMC compliance, and producibility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout the product lifecycle, including schematic design, PCB layout, assembly, integration, test, and field support.
  • Support proposal development and customer engagements by contributing technical solutions, architecture concepts, cost estimates, and design approaches.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and program management personnel.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support the development of engineering best practices.
  • Provide hands-on support to manufacturing technicians on the shop floor to troubleshoot assembly and test issues.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with RF modeling and simulation tools such as AWR Microwave Office, ADS, HFSS, CST, or equivalent.
  • Experience with mixed-signal PCB design principles, RF layout practices, and signal integrity considerations.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC, thermal management, and environmental qualification requirements.
  • Familiarity with software and firmware interactions within embedded electronic systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and technical leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment and interact directly with customers when required.
  • Understanding of software and firmware principles for system design and modification.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident).
  • BSEE or MSEE with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in RF system architecture, modeling, simulation, integration, and validation.
  • Proficiency with AWR Microwave Office or comparable RF simulation tools strongly preferred.
  • Experience with military standards, defense electronics, and electro-mechanical system integration is highly desirable.

Physical demands

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk throughout the workday.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a lab, office, and manufacturing environments as required.
