About the role
This is a part-time Research Foundation position.
Responsibilities
- Light cleaning of floors and tables after food is served
- Assistance in hand washing of children
- Constant supervision of children both inside and outside of the building
- Assuring that all OCFS guidelines are complied with in the classroom in regards to cleanliness at all times
- Updating families on the BrightWheel app about their child's day
- Change diapers/clothes when needed
- Assist in nap time protocol
- Assist in preparing for daily activities planned by the teacher
- Communicating with parents, coworkers and supervisors
- Closing out the room upon leaving for the day
- On occasion, leading the room in the absence of the lead teacher
- Providing a role model for Work Study students and Interns
- Reporting accidents and incidents in a timely manner
- Caring for an ill or hurt child
Requirements
- Current Farmingdale State College undergraduate student
- High School diploma
- One year of experience working with children under the age of 13
