RF Mechanical Engineer II
About the role
The Effector Guidance Electronics Department within Raytheon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This is an entry-level role for someone with educational experience and professional interest in the application of technical mechanical standards, principles, concepts, and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in a multi-discipline team setting to solve complex engineering problems
- Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for RF products designs
- Develop prototype hardware designs and coordinate fabrication
- Perform hands-on integration and test support for prototype hardware
- Hold design and drawing reviews with peers and subject matter experts
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience performing design and / or analysis throughout the product life cycle to include use of three dimensional (3D) Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
- Experience with creation of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Master of Science (MS) in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering preferred
- Experience performing design and / or analysis for the packaging of RF products (e.g. Circuit Card Assemblies, antennas, radomes, RF test equipment, harnesses and interconnects) preferred
- Experience with 3D CAD design (preferably Creo Parametric) preferred
- Experience in antenna and/or electronics packaging preferred
- Experience with harness and interconnect design preferred
- Experience creating engineering drawings preferred
- Experience fabricating prototype designs preferred
- Familiarity with the application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred
- Experience working collaboratively in a multi-discipline team preferred
- Experience performing tolerance analysis preferred
- Self-motivated problem solver with a positive attitude and willingness to learn preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from many communities and cultures preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent different types of work and conflict resolution styles preferred
Benefits
This is an on-site role located in Huntsville, AL. Eligible for relocation assistance. Salary range for this role is $68,900 - $131,100.
