About the role
The Skyworks Andover team is seeking a self-motivated co-op to work on cutting-edge WiFi front-end power amplifiers (PAs) and modules operating in the 2-8 GHz frequency range for WiFi-8 applications. This position offers hands-on experience in RF design, simulation, characterization, and performance optimization within a collaborative engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform RF circuit, electromagnetic (EM), and thermal simulations to support the design and development of RF modules and integrated circuits.
- Assist with laboratory characterization, debugging, and performance optimization of RF ICs and modules.
- Analyze measurement data and simulation results to evaluate circuit performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports summarizing test results, simulation findings, and engineering recommendations.
- Present technical analyses, project updates, and key findings to the engineering team.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Completion of coursework in microwave engineering and electronic circuit design.
- Exposure to integrated circuit design, semiconductor devices, and semiconductor physics is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Skills
- Knowledge of microwave circuit design, including amplifiers, filters, transmission lines, impedance matching networks, and passive RF components.
- Experience with RF design and simulation tools such as Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS), Cadence Virtuoso, and Ansys HFSS.
- Familiarity with RF and DC measurement equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers (VNAs), power meters, and spectrum analyzers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex engineering concepts and document technical results.
- Experience with data analysis and scripting tools such as MATLAB, Python, or similar engineering software is a plus.
Pay
The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, job duties, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
